About this workshop
This 2hr workshop is for therapists familiar with the concepts of Dr Sue Johnson’s Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples (EFCT). EFCT is an evidence-based model for improving relationship security & satisfaction, but the early work can often be tricky for therapists and their clients to navigate. This workshop outlines how to get off to a great start in Stage 1 of EFT for couples so that you gain traction, exit stuck patterns & create moments of change in each & every session!
Goals
➕ To outline the goals of Stage 1 & how to organise your early work for maximum effect.
➕ To highlight the required ingredients for good EFCT & how to know if you have them.
➕ Explain how the EFT Tango helps you to create change in every session.
➕ To see this work happening with Clare’s real therapy segments from Stage 1 sessions.
Practical Takeaways
⭐️ Clare will outline some key elements to include in your assessment, how to conduct your individual sessions & what to include when taking the relationship history.
⭐️ Clare will provide practical skills needed in Stage 1 of EFCT including tracking the negative cycle, choreographing engaged encounters & using the uncovering of each partner’s attachment history to help de-escalation.
⭐️ These skills are demonstrated in live video segments from Clare’s work with a couple in Stage 1.
Course Inclusions
⭐️ This 2hr workshop includes colourful, beautiful slides that are yours to keep.
⭐️ Participants will also receive downloadable therapist resources to support their learning such as a Cycle tracking sheet, an example cycle tracking sheet for the couple in the videos, and the EFT Tango “Plus” sheet.
